Core principle: Sonic does not collect, process, or store your media files. Ever. All conversion happens locally in your browser. We have no technical access to your files.
Sonic is operated by RUNTIMEZERO under the RuntimeHub brand (runtime-hub.com). References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to RUNTIMEZERO.
When you use Sonic to convert an audio or video file:
We have no technical means of accessing your files. There is no upload endpoint, no cloud storage, and no server-side processing in the entire Sonic architecture.
We collect standard web server access logs when you load the Sonic page. These logs may include:
These logs are used solely for security monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis. They are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are never used to identify individual users or sold to third parties.
Sonic itself sets one functional cookie: convertio-theme, which stores your light/dark mode preference. It contains no personal data, does not track you, and is never sent to any server.
Third-party advertising networks (see section 5 below) may set their own cookies. These are governed by the respective networks' privacy policies.
Sonic is supported by display advertising. We use Google AdSense. When ads are displayed, Google may set cookies and collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ad Settings or through your browser's cookie controls.
We do not share any user data with advertisers. Ad personalisation, if any, is handled entirely by the ad network based on signals they collect independently.
Sonic loads the following resources from third-party CDNs:
These are standard CDN requests. No media file data is involved in these requests.
We do not use Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any other behavioural analytics platform on Sonic. Traffic insights are derived from anonymised server logs only.
Sonic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under GDPR:
Because we collect minimal data and retain server logs for only 30 days, most requests will be trivially satisfied. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via RuntimeHub.
Server logs may be stored on infrastructure located within the European Union. No media file data is ever transferred anywhere, because it never leaves your device.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
